Volkswagen Beetle R could get green light
Volkswagen will introduce in series production, the concept Beetle R, recently launched at the Frankfurt Motor Show, according to company sources.
The production version will take the items found on the prototype, thus demonstrating that the famous “frog” may become angry if the right ingredients are added: larger bumpers, prominent wing bosses, air intakes to cool the engine and brakes, plus a exhaust system with four exhaust pipes.
The concept makes his job at Los Angeles Auto Show, the more so as the U.S. market remains the main tributary of the Volkswagen Beetle, a trend that should continue at the same rate for the current model.
VW Beetle R series, could be powered by a turbocharged TFSI unit, 2.0-liter petrol that develops 270 horsepower, engine that equips VW Golf R and VW Scirocco R.
