The new Toyota Yaris has received 5 stars at EuroNCAP tests
The new Toyota Yaris was scored with the maximum five stars, at the last safety tests conducted by EuroNCAP. In obtaining these results, contributed generous equipment with nine airbags and active safety systems.
New generation Yaris obtained the highest score given by EuroNCAP in 2011, this score respecting the conditions for granting future five-star EuroNCAP established for 2012, which bring more stringent requirements in terms of pedestrian safety.
Both in a frontal impact, and in case of side impact, the body is designed to dissipate energy. In a frontal collision, body deformation is limited by the front bumper, rails, front pillars and floor structure by absorbing and dissipating the forces resulting from impact.
To provide extra protection for side impact, rigid structures were installed inside the pillars and side sills. With an important role in absorbing impact energy, reinforcing bars were positioned in front and rear door structure.
The new Toyota Yaris is equipped with nine airbags: front airbags for driver and passenger, driver’s knee airbag, front side airbags and curtain airbags front and rear.

In terms of occupant protection contribute materials front spoiler, which helps reduce the impact energy of the vehicle, on pedestrians legs. To protect the head and body deformable structures pantograph, are incorporated in the front of the hood and fixing the upper front side wings.
Car manufacturer offers the following active safety systems: ABS, electronic brake force distribution (EBD) Emergency Brake Assist (BA), Traction Control (TRC) and stability control (VSC).
